Costa Rica
Lifeguard started operations in the United States in 1983 and is under the actual administration since 1990. We work with a variety of planes such as Lear Jet 35, King Air C90, King Air B200, Citation Bravo and a wide variety of bigger planes available upon request. All our planes are certified to operate as air ambulances, with the proper certifications from the FAA and the US Government.
In Costa Rica we own eight (8) ambulances totally equipped and four (4) clinics located along the Pacific Coast. Our personnel are trained to provide high quality services. We have over 25 years of international experience transporting critical patients, offering around the world coverage including South America, Central America, Canada, the Caribbean, Europe and Africa.
Our medical equipment accompanies patients from bed to bed, making sure the continuity and quality of the services are never interrupted. The Lifeguard team takes extreme pride providing this kind of service and they take extra effort in making every transport as pleasant and comfortable as possible.
In most of our flights two family members can accompany the patient at no extra cost as long as the size of the plane and the patient condition allows it. Lifeguard’s air medical equipment is certified as advance life support (ALS certified).
Our team is qualified in Aviation physiology and they are trained to take care of adults, children and neonatal. They are also trained to take care of any emergency that may arise on the plane. Our teams are assigned according to the medical necessity of the patient. We have Critical Care nurses, specialized doctors, paramedics and respiratory therapists among others.
