When Lifeguard enters into a new area, we look for opportunities and causes that we can participate in, so that we become more than just a business, but also a community partner. Throughout the year, the March of Dimes organization hosts different fundraisers in the local communities where it has offices. Lifeguard-Bay County teamed up with Gulf Coast Medical Center for the March of Babies Walk in Panama City. Gulf Coast Medical Center prepared its isolette for the event, and Lifeguard transported the NICU isolette to the event. It was set up with a baby doll inside, so that the participants at the walk could see the equipment used for premature and very ill newborns.
The March of Dimes motto is, "Working together for stronger, healthier babies." The organization works to raise money for research and to support mothers, helping them to have healthier pregnancies and therefore, healthier babies. The March of Babies Walk is one of the largest fundraisers for the March of Dimes organization. Hundreds of people participated in the event in Panama City, some parents, some not, and children of all ages. After the walk, food and family-friendly entertainment was provided at McKenzie Park.
